### Commission schedules an October hearing but says licensing progress depends on fee approval

**Update:** Nebraska Public Media reported Monday that the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission will not finalize updated program regulations until 2027, after commissioners scheduled a public hearing for Oct. 15\. The changes cover licensing fees, registration and renewals; the commission said it will not move on product-manufacturer or dispensary licenses until fees are authorized, leaving broader access on hold.

## SBA fraud action puts $167.7 million in Nebraska pandemic loans under scrutiny

### Federal officials suspended 2,789 Nebraska borrowers as part of a nationwide enforcement action

The U.S. Small Business Administration said Monday it suspended 870,000 borrowers tied to an estimated $39 billion in suspected pandemic-era PPP and EIDL fraud; the action includes 2,789 Nebraska borrowers tied to $167.7 million in approved loans.
